Did not like the characters themselves, their actions were one-dimensional and extreme with not much of a reason, and it was a reason that was very difficult to take seriously, and little is done to set them apart from each other or flesh them out. Almost all of it to do with the Yaks subplot, which was executed near-disastrously. She is immensely humorous here but she also shows that there is much more to her than comedy relief that had not been seen before in the season's previous episodes, due to having a character conflict that was engaging, touching and relatable. The best asset of the episode was the characterisation of Pinkie Pie in her best and most interesting appearance by far of Season 5 up to this point of it and perhaps her best and most interesting appearance since "Pinkie Pride". The message was a unique one for the show, or certainly at that point it was with it having not been attempted before in the previous episodes, and handled with force yet tact. Twilight is fun and actually really related to her worrying, being a notorious worrier myself. The secret party planning cave was cool and insightful, loved seeing how she worked as a friend. There are some great jokes and funny dialogue, most of which belonging to Pinkie Pie and her best material is hilarious. All the voice acting is excellent, with Andrea Libman's nuanced Pinkie Pie getting the top honours. The music has nice atmosphere and character, again as usual. The colours are always vibrant and beautifully varied, the backgrounds are fine detailed without looking too sparse or cluttered and the facial expressions and reactions are creative visually. The episode is beautifully animated, which is not a surprise as that was a near consistent good thing. "Party Pooped" has a number of good things and they shall be mentioned first. "Party Pooped" does wonders with Pinkie Pie, but was severely flawed when it came to the conflict. It is a big improvement over the disappointing previous episode "Princess Spike" which again made a mess of Spike and came over as mean-spirited, but at the same time it is no "Slice of Life", a wonderful love letter milestone to the show. It is not one of my favourite 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' episodes and isn't even one of my favourites of Season 5. But on the most part she was one of the funnier characters of the show and the show had quite a few instances where they flesh out Pinkie Pie very well, regardless of the state of everything else. She may not be likeable in every episode and she has episodes where she is annoying or if negative character traits are overwritten (although a fan, that was not uncommon in 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic').
